Bringing your own hunting guns into Mexico is not a problem at all - and fairly easy to do (contrary to popular belief!). Mexico Gun Permits are NOT included in price of the hunts as they are a tax we have to pay the government.
We process all our hunter’s Mexico Gun Permits and even if you are not hunting with us, we can gladly process your hunting permits! All we have to do is check your guns in and out of Mexico. Keep in mind Mexico Gun Permits are good for 6 months and must be cancelled before the expiration date.
All our Gun “Check in & out” is done through the Eagle Pass, Tx - Piedras Negras, COAH border ports of entry. From here, once you clear MX Customs you can be on your way to your hunting destination.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MEXICO GUN PERMITS:
The cost of your temporary gun importation and transportation permit is $475 USD. Please keep in mind this price may change without notice.
We only process temporary import HUNTING gun permits.
For hunting in Mexico, you can bring in two long guns - either one rifle and a shotgun – or two of each.
You can only bring in 100 rounds of ammo per gun.
Only one permit per person is allowed.
Rifles calibers must not be larger than a 32. Cal. (8mm) and shotgun calibers must not be larger than a .12 ga. Rifles chambered in .22 and .223 calibers are not allowed.
Handguns and “tactical looking” firearms are not allowed to be imported temporarily for hunting in Mexico.
Gun check in & out can take from 20 mins - 1 hr. Please plan travel accordingly.
MEXICO GUN PERMIT PROCESSING:
In order to process your gun permit in a timely fashion, we need you to provide us with the following information and documents at least 15 business days before your hunt date:
Copy of both your US Passport and Driver’s License.
Complete name and date of birth.
Complete address and contact number.
$475 USD as payment for your gun permit.
Your gun brand, model, caliber and serial number.
Your riflescope brand, model, power and serial number.
Gun & scope info accuracy is a must! Please TRIPLE check the serial number!
In some cases - depending on where you are hunting in Mexico - it is better to rent our camp guns, or, if you just prefer the convenience of not having to travel with your guns, we have very good rifles and shotguns at all of our hunting camps. From brand -name centerfire rifles to brand -name shotguns, they will all shoot straight! Most of our camp guns are available to rent for $375 USD for the duration of your hunt.
